Organization Description: Growing Power transforms communities by supporting people from diverse backgrounds and the environments in which they live through the development of Community Food Systems. These systems provide high-quality, safe, healthy, affordable, food for all residents in the community. Growing Power develops Community Food Centers, as a key component of Community Food Systems, through training, active demonstration, outreach, and technical assistance (http://www.growingpower.org/index.htm).
Volunteer Description: Volunteer orientation is held on every Saturdays at 10:00am at the urban farm EXCEPT during the weekend workshops, listed below. Orientation takes about 30 minutes and you can stay and start working right away or come back another time. Once orientated, you can volunteer anytime. After completing an orientation, volunteers are welcome Tuesday through Saturday, 9am to 4pm, except during workshops.

Hunger Task Force
Organization Description: Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. Hunger Task Force works to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow (http://www.hungertaskforce.org/).

Organization Description: Hope House is an emergency and transitional living facility as well as a true community center located in the near south side of Milwaukee. Opened in 1987, Hope House was created to provide a safe, temporary refuge for people needing a place to sleep.
